Accelerate Sales Analysis Data Sheet
Objective
This document describes individual components and
functionality present in the CD Group Accelerate
Sales model.
Dimensions and Facts: Our Accelerate Sales
model contains 9 dimension tables and 3 fact tables.
The dimensions are Bill To Customer, Ship To
Customer, Business Unit, Sales Item By Branch, Sales
Item, Sales Rep, Calendar By GL Date, Calendar By
Shipping Date and Calendar By Transaction Date. The
facts include Sales Order Detail, Sales Order
History and Sales Order Union. All these are
explained in more detail below.
- Bill To Customer Dimension: This is a
direct mapping to either the F0301 or F03012
tables, depending on what version of JDE
Accelerate is being mapped to. This table is
joined to the SDAN8 (Bill To Customer Number)
column in the fact tables.
- Ship To Customer Dimension: This is a
direct mapping to either the F0301 or F03012
tables, depending on what version of JDE
Accelerate is being mapped to. This table is
joined to the SDSHAN (Ship To Customer Number)
column in the fact tables.
- Business Unit Dimension: This is a
direct mapping to the F0006 table, joining to
the SDMCU field in the fact tables.
- Sales Item By Branch and Sales Item
Dimensions: These are direct mappings to the
F4102 and F4101 table in the JDE database
respectively.
- Sales Rep Dimension: Depending on how
the JDE system is set up, this dimension can be
sourced as a category code from the customer, or
from the address book (F0101).
- Calendar By GL Date Dimension: This
dimensional table is loaded from a calendar
spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It
is joined to the GL Date column (SDDGL) in the
fact tables.
- Calendar By Shipping Date Dimension:
This dimensional table is loaded from a calendar
spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It
is joined to the Ship Date column (SDADDJ) in
the fact tables.
- Calendar By Transaction Date Dimension:
This dimensional table is loaded from a calendar
spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It
is joined to the Transaction Date column (SDTRDJ)
in the fact tables. Sales Order Detail Fact:
This is a direct mapping to the F4211 table in
the JDE database.
- Sales Order History Fact: This is a
direct mapping to the F42119 table in the JDE
database.
- Sales Order Union: This table is a
union between the Sales Detail and Sales History
facts. It gives the end user the chance to look
at all sales orders in one view, regardless of
status.
Category Codes: Accelerate contains
mappings to 30 Customer category codes (AC01 –
AC30), 30 Business Unit category codes (MCRP01 –
MCRP30), and 20 Product category codes (PRP0 – PRP9
and SRP0 – SRP9). The model also includes mappings
to the category code descriptions that reside in the
F0005 table. These category codes can be used for
relational reporting as well as for the creation of
dimensional hierarchies.
Dimensional Hierarchies: Our model
includes predefined hierarchies for all the
dimensions. These hierarchies are customizable, and
can be leveraged in “drill-down” type of analysis in
OBIEE Answers. New hierarchies can also be created
if necessary.
Pre-defined Calculations: Accelerate
includes pre-defined calculations for all fact
tables such as Order Fill Rate, Sales Line Count,
Total Extended Price $, Total Extended Cost $, Total
Product Margin $, Average Product Margin %, Average
Unit Price $, Average Unit Cost $, Backordered
Amount and Backordered Count.
Status Descriptions: Accelerate includes a
Status Description column in the fact tables with
the values OPEN, SHIPPED, CLOSED, BACKORDERED and
CANCELLED. These descriptions can be customized to
fit your JDE status progression based on the SDLTTR
(last status) and SDNXTR (next status) fields.
Naming Structures: Accelerate was
developed with the end-user in mind. For that
reason, all JDE column names have been translated
into business terms. Examples include F03012.AIAN8 =
Customer Number and F4102.IBMCU = Branch Plant.
