CD Group Accelerate for Oracle Business Intelligence
Accelerate Inventory Analysis Data Sheet

Objective

This document describes individual components and functionality present in the CD Group Accelerate Inventory model.

Dimensions and Facts: This is a direct mapping to the F4102 table in the JDE database. It joins to the LIMCU and LIITM fields in the On Hand Inventory and Historical Inventory facts and to the ILMCU and ILITM fields in the Inventory Movements fact.

  • Item Master Dimension: This is a direct mapping to the F4101 table in the JDE database. It joins to the LIITM field in the On Hand Inventory and Historical Inventory facts and to the ILITM field in the Inventory Movements fact.

  • Calendar for GL Dates Dimension: This dimensional table is loaded from a calendar spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It is joined to the GL Date column (ILDGL) in the Inventory Movements fact.

  • Calendar for Transaction Dates Dimension: This dimensional table is loaded from a calendar spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It is joined to the Transaction Date column (ILTRDJ) in the Inventory Movements fact.

  • Calendar for Historical Inventory Dates: This dimensional table is loaded from a calendar spreadsheet that resides in the OBIEE server. It is joined to the time stamp column that our stored procedure creates in the On Hand Inventory History fact.

  • Inventory Movements Fact: This is a direct mapping to the F4111 table in the JDE database.

  • On Hand Inventory Fact: This fact table maps to the F41021 file in the JDE database. It also includes a join to the F4105 (Item Cost File) to create columns representing dollar amounts for the quantity columns.

  • Historical Inventory Fact: This fact uses the F41021 file to create a stored procedure that captures your levels of inventory on a monthly basis for historical trending analysis. It has the same structure (columns and joins) as On Hand Inventory.

Category Codes: Accelerate contains mappings to 20 Product category codes (PRP0 – PRP9 and SRP0 – SRP9). The model also includes mappings to the category code descriptions that reside in the F0005 table. These category codes can be used for relational reporting as well as for the creation of dimensional hierarchies.

Dimensional Hierarchies: Our model includes predefined hierarchies for all the dimensions. These hierarchies are customizable, and can be leveraged in “drill-down” type of analysis in OBIEE Answers. New hierarchies can also be created if necessary.

Pre-defined Calculations: Accelerate includes pre-defined calculations for the fact tables such as Back Ordered Value, Hard Commit Value, Soft Commit Value, Future Commit Value and On Hand Value.

Naming Structures: Accelerate was developed with the end-user in mind. For that reason, all JDE column names have been translated into business terms. Examples include F4111.ILDOC = Document Number and F4102.IBMCU = Branch Plant.
